This high-quality trailer winch measures about 8 ½” long, 4 ¾” wide, and 6 ¼” high. The handle measures 9 ¼” long. This winch is a surface mount and can be installed on a firm, flat surface. There are three positions for the ratchet switch. The higher position is for pulling the item onto the trailer. The lower position is for releasing the item. The second position can be used to pull or release, however, it should only be used when there is no load on the strap. It is important not to overload the capacity of the winch, as this could damage it and potentially cause an accident with the item you’re pulling. This trailer winch has a 3200-pound capacity
